Greenery – Why we love it!
It's no secret that we absolutely love using greenery when styling homes and we're always sure to add a touch of greenery into every single room we style in order for it to feel complete. But what are the reasons we do this and why do we love greenery so much?
Brightens up a space – Greenery is a great, inexpensive way to instantly inject colour into a room, making it feel brighter and more fresh.
Don’t worry, be happy - Plants do wonders for our mind, body and overall wellbeing. Greenery serves both a practical and aesthetic purpose by not only increasing levels of positivity, boosts your mood and helps you feel more calm and relaxed, but they also create a healthy home. They do this by releasing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide, freshening up the air and eliminates harmful toxins. Plants have also been proven to improve your concentration and productivity so they are great to add to your work space.
So many options! – We are spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing what type of greenery we want to use in our homes. If you are wanting a statement piece we suggest using a big beautiful fiddle leaf fig or large palm. Succulents are a great, easy to care for option and look great as either an indoor or outdoor plant. Macramé hanging plants are a great way to create a “boho” vibe and they don’t take up any precious floor space! And don’t forget about pots – there are so many beautiful pots to choose from or you can even use a weaved basket for a more casual and coastal look. There is a plant to suit every style of home.
Not much of a green thumb? – Faux plants will be your best friend. We always use faux greenery when styling a home for the simple reason that we’re not readily available to tend to it. Our top tip is to invest in a good quality faux plant (not the cheap discount store variety!). Quality faux plants are definitely worth the extra dollars and look so realistic you can fool your guests into thinking you’ve got a green thumb!
They fill those tricky empty spaces – Floor pot plants are great to fill those tricky empty spaces or odd corners within a room. We love to add one into the corner of a dining room, lounge room, bedroom or study to fill and brighten the space.
