Trends that are here to stay
Trends come and go all the time through interiors but some stick around longer than others and we’re here to tell you the best four trends that are current and will last a lifetime. Hopefully this may help you with your next purchase or design idea.
Detail Finishes
It pays to have a well thought out design. Whether you're renovating or purchasing a new home, people are seeking those smaller details in design and style these days. We live in a world where social media is our go to source for daily inspiration and references. Inspiration and visual references are only a click away and people want what they see. Attention to detail goes a long way when selling homes and it can definitely win over potential buyers. Details such as hidden storage, custom joinery, shadow line details and tile bathroom edging play a part in creating a polished and finished space.
Gold Tapware
We’ve seen the matte black craze take off in the world of interiors; from door hardware, tapware and even light switches. There’s now a new colour that is gaining popularity in the interior industry and that is gold. We’ve seen a few homes that have implemented the new colour trend through their interior fixtures and we are loving its' appeal. The beautiful brass finish has been incorporated into many products that are currently on the market including lighting, door hardware and tapware. Much like black, gold and brass are timeless and classic, making it the perfect finish to suit both a modern and traditional home.
Black Kitchens
It is a bold statement to make but black kitchens have made their mark for all the right reasons and we certainly hope they stay. The colour black is timeless, classic, masculine and sophisticated. We like to use black in a lot of our styling for both modern builds and traditional homes. There’s something quite daring about the colour black but if it's well executed in can definitely achieve a breath taking design and create a long lasting impression for years to come. It can be assumed that black is impractical, hard to clean and will show fingerprints but now thanks to advancements in technology there are great products on the market that offer a mark free material.
Wall Panelling
Painted feature walls are out and wall panelling is in! Painted in white or black and installed either vertically or horizontally, wall panelling makes for a nice alternative to wallpaper. It’s a great material to create a wall feature and to add extra dimension and texture to your overall space. Seen in both modern architectural homes, coastal homes and highland homes, wall panelling is diverse and suits a broad range of different styles, creating character to an otherwise flat or lifeless space.
